Cushing St. Bridge
To cross the Santa Cruz — April 15, 2009
The City of Tucson wants to build a new bridge across the Santa Cruz River south of Congress Street to accommodate the proposed modern street car as well as vehicular traffic, bicycles and pedestrians.
Supporters say the new Cushing Street Bridge is essential for their developments west of the freeway since it's all part of a project to get people traveling back and forth. We speak to the director of the City of Tucson's transportation department as well as Regina Romero, the council member who represents the area and a developer, Adam Weinstein, whose company is investing millions of dollars west of the interstate.
