City Councilwoman Karin Uhlich
Re-election, downtown and more — July 16, 2009
Karin Uhlich, Democrat from Tucson’s Ward 3, says she is running for a second four-year term on the Tucson City Council to continue with her work in what she sees as making Tucson a better place to live.
Uhlich faces Republican challenger Ben Buehler-Garcia in the November city election. Uhlich says she sees progress in downtown revitalization, saying rebuilding a downtown takes time. She also says she is opposed to Governor Brewer’s decision signing into law a measure that will make Tucson city elections nonpartisan and Uhlich expects a legal challenge.
