I-10 Construction
Ending soon — July 29, 2009
After nearly three years, the Arizona Department of Transportation is making plans to celebrate the reopening of the Interstate-10 through downtown Tucson.
The $200 million project was the largest in Arizona history. In a few weeks, the new state-of-the-art highway will once again be fully navigable for motorists who've had to use detours for the past three years.
Some local merchants in the area have had to deal with the loss of revenue caused by detours and what they call misinformation about the severity of the project.
Kimberly Craft reports on how some merchants along I-10 have survived the years of construction.
