The Arizona Legislature faces a Monday deadline for giving final approval to a proposed repeal of a state property tax that has been suspended for three years, but will return without any legislative action. That would mean higher property taxes, as state law requires counties to set their tax rates Monday.

The repeal of the tax has cleared both chambers of the legislature, but the House still has to approve tweaks made to the proposal and then send along the legislation to Governor Jan Brewer. Both chambers will reconvene at 1 p.m. Monday.
