Using Tucson as a venue — August 19, 2009
Tucson residents are hoping to attract more filmmakers to the city in an effort to bring back some of the business that used to be a bigger player in our city's economy decades ago but has now moved on to other places like New Mexico and Michigan. Justin Kreinbrink is a producer, director and actor who is heading Taz Entertainment in Tucson.
He's worked in other states but lives in our city and wants to make an investment in this community. He's working with several people including David Aufmuth. Aufmuth is the CEO of Aufmuth Motors northwest of of Tucson, next to I-10. He's a film aficionado who has also acted in some movies and he's using his huge warehouse with Kreinbrink to double as a movie set, a soundstage which can be used for all types of movies: From lower budget to major feature productions.

The facility has 50,000 square feet under the roof, about 10,000 thousand square feet for office or soundstages, catwalks for lighting, plenty of parking and an ideal location next to the freeway. Kreinbrink says there's interest in what he's doing and some projects may follow in the near future. Aufmuth worked on a movie, Trade In, which will be showing at the Fox Theatre in Tucson on September 19th.
